The award came as a surprise to the actor who said he was not expecting such but showed his gratitude nevertheless.
The actor in his speech revealed he has been trying to organise these kinds of award ceremonies, but he didn’t achieve so much with the team he had as they stopped at “Orga” and never got to the “nise”. He commended Mrs Peace Anyiam for her persistence in ensuring that AMAA takes place every year.
Speaking about the decision to give Nkem Owoh popularly known as Osuofia the award for Lifetime Achievement, the organisers stated that Nkem Owoh has not just gone far in the industry, he has been dedicated to the profession which loves and his contributions although cannot be quantified by this award, it is a sign of appreciation to let him know that Nollywood, Nigeria and Africa appreciate him and all he has done and is doing for the industry with his creativity, personality and comic approach to interpretation of roles.
The iconic actor has now joined the league of veterans such as Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva, Tony Vander Heyden (Movie director/producer) and many more.
