The Nigerian Film Industry has always been on the rise since the 21st century and the advancement is so unique that it’s been able to give the viewers at home a rich fine blend of talents and beauties as they have been able to give us a glimpse of what other professionals they can be outside the camera.
In this review, we take a cursory background of some of our Nollywood Actresses who were models before launching their acting and some fortunate ones who had their luck at both simultaneously. In no particular order they are,
Stephanie Linus: The 2002 MBGN Runner-up and mother of one is among the list of Nigerian actresses who has made A-list of actresses in this league. She’s an AMVCA winner and married to a Linus Idahosa.
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde: The Ondo state native and mother of four kids is an accomplished woman on all fronts, having been married since 1996 with four kids and still happily married. She’s an actress of immense quality that interprets her role masterfuly well. She got her platform for modellling much after she started showing on screens and she definitely makes the cut.
Genevieve Nnaji: The ever slim-framed is an actress adored by all and sundry, the reason is not far-fetched as she’s a perfect role interpreter who has once been described as the Julian Roberts of Africa. You don’t get such deep valued comparism anyhow. She is a mother of one when she was in her mid teens and bounced on the Nollywood screen with massive hits. She was later in 2003 named the Face of Lux Africa and while she acts, she had her chance of gracing the runway.
Kehinde Bankole: After many years of being a regular face on Wale Adenuga Productions wherein she was the Miss Pepeye of Papa Ajasco comedy flick, little knew she was also a model and does well for African prints. She broke her somewhat caged deal with the production outfit and ventured into full time acting and she’s been doing amazingly well for herself which surmounted to her winning AMVCA’s best supporting actress for her wonderful portrayal of character in Kunle Afolayan’s OCT.1st
