Two Nollywood Yoruba actresses, Eniola Badmus and Funke Akindele have finally sheathed their fighting swords to go all chummy-chummy at the premiere of ‘Ghetto Bred’, a film produced by the Gbogbo Bigz girl, Eniola Badmus.
The duo, all smiles, seemed to be comfortable in each other’s company and there was no hint of the previous animosity between them. If they had sworn never to cross each other’s paths again, it appears ‘Ghetto Bred’ has put an end to that.
The film, which features a hilarious cast of Ushbebe, Helen Paul, Nedu, Broda Shaggi, Yaw and other top comic-actors premiered at Filmhouse Imax in Lekki, Lagos, last Sunday.
Speaking with journalists at the premiere of the movie, Badmus said: “Words can’t describe how I feel. I’ve never been shown this much love. I am more than excited that we were able to pull this through.”
She also spoke on the hurdles faced during production, she said: “There were a lot of challenges I must say, when we were shooting Ghetto Bred, it was actually raining and that’s when it became a problem because we had to wait until the rain was over before we continued. “Asides that, where we shot ‘Ghetto Bred’ is, ‘I don’t know what to call it’, like the slums of Lagos and it wasn’t easy.
We shot for about sixteen days”. “I was exhausted, as the executive producer also playing a lead role, it was really tiring. But a big shout out to the cast and crew.” Present at the premiere were Nollywood icon like Iyabo Ojo, Alex Ekubo, Bimbo Thomas and many others who came out to support their friend. ‘Ghetto Bred’ was also premiered in London, UK a while ago.
